How To Create a Vision Board That Blows Your Mind (And Actually Works!)
What Vision Will You Create?
When it comes to setting yourself up for immense success, learning how to create a vision board can be a true game changer.
Tons of people swear that creative visualization is the power behind most success stories.
By mastering the art of “seeing” your future as if it’s here now, you can fast track achieving personal goals.
Most successful individuals have perfected the art of visualizing success and pushing their efforts towards the ideal life they want. Famous professional athletes Tiger Woods and Arnold Schwarzenegger have both acknowledged they have used visualization techniques for years to achieve their goals.
The subconscious mind is capable of picking up repeated thoughts and changing your habits and approaches. When subjected
to the right ideas and emotions, you can attract an empowering environment for you to create your dream life.
If you are new to the idea, a vision board is usually the best starting point. A vision board will not only help you concentrate on specific goals, but also allow you to maintain your focus. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to create a vision board quickly and easily.
Step 1 – Intention
The first step is to set aside time for creating your vision. An hour or two should be enough for gathering all the supplies and
creating a unique vision board that will blow your mind. However, you need to first decide what your intention is including what you want to achieve, what you need and what you value most.
When setting your intention, focus on how you want to feel when you dream becomes reality and use inspiring words that trigger deep emotions like joy, happiness, freedom.
Step 2 – Gather Supplies
You will need a couple of things to create your vision board depending on what you want to accomplish. The basic must-haves include:
- Somewhere to pin your images – a small canvas, pasteboard or cork board will work just fine.
- Images that inspire you – find a stack of old and new magazines and journals.
- A pair of scissors
- Markers, pen or paint
- Glue, tape or pin
- Your photo
Step 3 – Create Your Space
Find a quiet space that will allow you to work without distractions or noise. Vision board creation should be treated as a sacred event as it is a big step that sets you up for your future big wins. You can light up candles, burn incense or play inspiring upbeat music to create an atmosphere that allows you to reflect on what you want to achieve.
Step 4 – Choose Your Empowering Images
The next step is to find images and words that represent the life you want to live or goals you want to accomplish. Cut images from your magazine and journals.
At this stage, you can choose anything that makes you feel happy. You can also print from the internet or even draw them if you do not find what you want in the magazines.
Step 5 – Find Images That Resonate with your goals
From all those of images, choose those that really relate to your lifetime objectives.
For example, if having pictures of skinny models makes you feel discouraged that you may never achieve their success, it should not be on the board.
Only pick images that evoke the right emotion and motivate you.
Paste those images on your board. With every picture, take a good look at the board and determine how you feel. Does the feeling fall within your intentions (in step 1 above)?
When you see that picture, does it spark joy and boost your belief?
If it does, go ahead and add a photo of yourself at the middle of the board. See yourself surrounding by your ultimate future!
Step 6 – Personal Mantras
It is highly recommended to paste your favorite quotes and personal mantras on the board. You can also simply cut these quotes from a magazine or print them out. In addition to your mantra, write a small “make real” list which is a list of the things you need to do to start aligning with your goals.
As the saying goes, visions without action are simply dreams. You need to put in the work towards your ideal life.
Step 7 – Proudly Display Your Vision board
Once you are through with the vision board creation process, display it somewhere you can easily see it. You can hang it on a wall, stick a copy on the fridge or even take a picture and have it as a wall paper on your computer or smartphone.
You have now set your vision in motion to achieving success in your life. Take time to review your actions and heal any resistance that arises as you align your habits with the life you want to lead.
As you can now see, learning how to create a vision board isn’t some cheesy personal development woo woo…
It’s opening the door to crafting your ultimate lifestyle… can you see it now?
